Foley

Here is the first of the red and gold tea cups.  The outside has a simple floral decoration, but there is a lot of detail on the inside of the tea cup.

You can see a pretty pheasant by a fence in a field with trees, flowers.  It's quite colourful and pretty.

It seems that this pattern was also made in blue as well.  I was not able to tell the age of this cup, but it may have been produced between 1936-1948.  E Brain and Co owned this company between the dates of 1903 - 1963.  This is the first piece of china that I have that was produced by Foley.

Here I've pared it with one of my mix-match saucers.  Works pretty good I think!

Royal Paragon - Red and Gold Saucer

Here is the fourth mix-match saucer I got from that fantastic box.  This saucer is made by Paragon between 1933 - 1934.

Tuscan - Lorraine

Here is the third red and gold saucer.  This one is also Tuscan, produced 1947 or later.  This one has the pattern name of "Lorraine."

Royal Albert - Lady Hamilton

Here is the second Red and Gold china saucer.  This one is Royal Albert.  The saucer was produced in the '20s or '30s according to my internet search.

Tuscan - Red and Gold Saucer

Here is the first red and gold plate I will share.  Based on an internet search of the back stamp, this saucer was produced any time after 1947, as this is when they added the phrase "Fine English Bone China" to their back stamp.  The company was later taken over by the Wedgewood Group, and eventually the back stamp was written as "Royal Tuscan" until that brand was no longer used.

Fun Times ... Great Deal?

So we went to one of our favourite Antique Malls, and they were having a 'sale' out in their parking lot.  I picked up a box for $10 ... a bit more that I usually like to spend on china ... however, a peek inside the box promised some treasures I would have fun looking through.

I will feature my new treasures in my next few blog posts.

Windsor Tea Cup - Royal Stafford

This cute tea cup was another great deal I got at that garage sale we went to in BC.  It has no saucer, but I thought it was sweet and would be fun to drink from anyways!

This same pattern was also produced in green.

Flower of the Month Series - Michaelmas Daisy - Royal Albert

Here is a saucer missing it's tea cup, but that's okay because it sure is pretty!

This was the saucer that went with the September tea cup.

This series was produced in 1970.  Each month was a different flower.  The flowers featured in this series were:  Snowdrops, Violets, Anemones, Sweet Pea, Lily of the Valley, Roses, Forget-Me-Not, Poppy, Michaelmas Daisy, Cosmos, Chrysanthemum and Christmas Rose

Small Paragon Plate - Tay 'San

Here is the second small china plate I picked up on our BC vacation.  It is also made by Paragon.

I saw somewhere online that this pattern was originally manufactured in 1981.  Paragon was owned by Royal Doulton at that point.

Small Paragon Plate - Tapestry Rose

While vacationing in BC I found a few mismatched china pieces for a great deal!  This small plate is really cute and cheerful!

It's made by Paragon between 1939-1949.  The pattern itself seems to have been produced over a number of years and has a variety of different backstamps.

Green Paragon Tea Cup

Here's another tea cup to share:

It is a beautiful tea cup that is missing it's saucer.  The lady had sold the saucers earlier, then found the matching tea cups!  I think this is a beautiful tea cup, even missing the saucer.  One day I'll find something that will work with it!  Simple white and gold on the outside ... and bright colours on the inside!

Here is the back stamp.  I didn't find this exact one online, but similar one to it dates a tea cup around 1939-1949.

Aynsley-Paragon Mix Match - Pretty in Pink

Here is the final 25 cent tea cup I picked up.  It is not a matching pair, but it does match quite well if you ask me!  I especially love the simple, yet beautiful tea cup.

This tea cup was probably produced between 1905-1925 based on this back stamp.  After all those years, she's lost her saucer.

But she was matched with this beauty!  The saucer has the same shade of pink and its intricate design complements her simplicity.

 I'm not sure when this saucer was produced ... some time after 1963.

Royal Vale - Pink and Gold

Here is the fourth 25 cent tea cup I found at that garage sale.  It reminds me of these Royal Stafford tea cups!

Royal Albert - Burgundy and Blue Chintz - Flowers

Here is the third 25 cent tea cup I found.  I love the deep burgundy colour and it's quite different from any other tea cup I have yet!

This tea cup is Malvern, I believe. 

The backstamp indicates that it was produced sometime in the 1960s or 1970s.

Oakley China Ltd - Clover

Here is the second 25 cent tea cup.  I really love the detail on this one and the unique shape.  Isn't the clover so cheerful?

I wasn't able to find much information about this china company except perhaps they were purchased by another company in 1992.

Royal Albert - Country Scenes - Dovedale

The other weekend we were going to a bunch of garage sales and we came across one with many beautiful tea cups.  They were being sold for 25 cents, so I nabbed 5 of them.  Here is the first one:

This Royal Albert Tea Cup shape is Montrose.  It is part of a series produced in 1980.  There are 6 in the series:  Bluebell Wood, Dingle Dell, Dovedale, Harvest Song, Primrose Hill, and Rose Cottage.  This particular one is Dovedale.

Lady Beth

This is the 4th tea cup from my Auntie.  It looks simple on the outside, coloured a nice pale green...

Then on the inside there is the beautiful blue rose!

This is my first tea cup by Lady Beth in my collection.

Royal Anne - Autumn Glory

This is the 3rd tea cup from my Auntie.  I LOVE the bright cheerful pattern on this tea cup.  This one is sure to make me smile every time I pull it out!

Royal Crown Derby

This is the second tea cup from my Auntie.  I love the colours on this one ... it's not like any other tea cups I have in my collection.

This tea cup is produced by Royal Crown Derby.  This is my first tea cup from this company, so I did a little research on it.  It appears that this is the company that supplied the china on the Titanic.

My tea cup was probably produced somewhere between 1921-1964.

I just love this pattern!!
