Paragon - Green and Gold

I wanted to share a beautiful tea cup my husband bought me for our anniversary.  He found it at this great antique mall that we have in our city.
It has such a unique and pretty pattern.  I like the fun green petal shapes around the cup and saucer with a gold overlay...
 ...and such pretty ruffled edges!
There is a spring floral bouquet inside the cup and in the center of the saucer.

Here is the backstamp ... it was used 1935-.

Salisbury - Golden Lotus

Here is the other tea cup I received for my birthday!
Isn't the tea cup shape unique?  I love the handle shape and the fancy saucer.
Such a pretty flower pattern, too!
Here is the backstamp.  Salisbury Crown China was a firm based in Longton, Staffordshire founded in 1927 and taken over by Thomas Poole of Longton in 1961.

Old Royal Bone China

I received a couple beautiful tea cups for my birthday this year from my parents.  This one is a pretty floral tea cup with soft pink inside the cup.
It has pretty ruffled edges ...
Here is the backstamp.  It looks like it was produced between 1945-1963.

Royal Albert - Unnamed - 2534

Here is a fun teacup that I found at an estate sale.  The orange dots are raised, and it looks like maybe some of it was painted by hand?

Here is the backstamp.  It is quite difficult to read the hand written number, so it is a bit of a guess.  I think this backstamp was used in the 1940's.

Royal Vale - 1123

Here is another sweet teacup that was gifted to me from my parents.  Such beautifully coloured flowers.  They just make me want to smile!!

Here is the backstamp.  From what I can tell, this backstamp could have been used anytime between 1913 - 1953.

Royal Albert - Unnamed - Roses

It's been a while since I posted last, and it's time to share another tea cup!  This is one that I picked up a few weekends ago.  It was at a garage sale, and since it was missing the saucer, the lady let it go for a quarter!  That's hard to pass up!  I'll have to be on the hunt for a saucer that goes well with it.
Romantic pink roses against a blue background with stunning bold gold trimmings.  It sure is a nice cup, even if it doesn't have anything to stand on right now.

Paragon G6072

Here is a saucer without it's tea cup!  I picked it up anyway, because it was not expensive, and I thought it was pretty.  I had a hard time determining the age of this piece, and thought maybe it was produced between 1939-1940.

Paragon 2277

Today I want to share with you a couple tea cups I found last weekend.  They are made of such fine bone china.  It is so thin and delicate.
Such a simple, yet beautiful design!

A gold rim on the saucer where the tea cup sits.
Here are their back stamps.  According the the source I found online, this stamp was used 1903 onward.  I think it is the second stamp that Paragon used.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!

I made some Spring Lemon Cookies for some friends that came over this weekend.

Lemon Cookies

Ingredients:
2 Tsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
2 Tsp lemon zest
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tsp baking powder
1/4 Tsp baking soda

Preheat the oven to 350.

Combine the 2 tsp lemon juice with the milk and let stand for 5 minutes.  Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in the egg.  Stir in the lemon zest and the milk mixture.  In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and baking soda.  Blend dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheets.  Bake for 8-10 minutes.  I made a lemon icing with lemon juice and icing sugar, and topped each cookie with it once they cooled.  Yummmm!

Queen Anne - chrysanthemum flowers

This was one of my first tea cups added to my collection.  A wonderful garage sale find!
It does not have a pattern name, but the flowers remind me of chrysanthemums...
